CRY

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

What CRY does, what it never does, and where your data stays.

Is CRY really free?

Yes. No account, no paid tier, no ads, no bundled junk.

Can I undo changes?

Every tweak is reversible. CRY captures the previous value to a local change log before each change, so you can undo per tweak, per session, or all at once. A System Restore point is the coarse fallback.

Does CRY collect any data?

No. CRY has no telemetry and never phones home. The change log stays on your PC, and you can export or wipe it.

Do I need to run it as administrator?

No. CRY launches non-elevated so you can inspect everything first, and asks for admin only when you Apply changes that need it. You can cancel with no side effects.

Will it break my system?

CRY makes a System Restore point first, journals each change before writing it, and runs nothing until you pass the review gate. Still, any change to a system carries risk — see the Disclaimer.

Which Windows versions are supported?

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.

Is there an installer?

No. CRY is a single portable .exe — there is nothing to install.

Where is my change log stored?

Locally, under %LOCALAPPDATA%\CryOptimizer. It never leaves your PC.

Why does it say BETA?

v1.1 is an actively-developed beta.

That's the whole story. Try it for yourself.
